About The Position

The Civil Law Section of the Faculty of Law seeks to recruit part-time professors who are distinguished by their expertise and play a leading role in the legal profession. This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position for the Fall 2026 semester, teaching Private International Law (DRC3501/4796). The course covers methods for resolving conflicts of laws, determining international jurisdiction and applicable law in private international law matters (general and specific rules), and the conditions for recognition and enforcement of foreign decisions. The expected enrollment is 80 students, and the course is worth 3 credits.

Requirements

  • Hold an LL.L. or LL.B. (or equivalent).
  • Be a member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec, the bar of another province, or the Chambre des notaires du Québec.
  • Have significant and relevant work experience in negotiation and client representation before judicial and/or administrative decision-making bodies.

Nice To Haves

  • University teaching experience in a law faculty is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Private International Law (DRC3501/4796) during the Fall 2026 semester.
