About The Position

The Faculty of Law, Civil Law Section, seeks to recruit part-time professors distinguished by their expertise and who play a leading role in the legal profession. This course, DCC3102, is an introduction to criminal law, covering the criminal justice system, the general theory of the offense and criminal responsibility, and main offenses. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. The hiring process will be governed by the current APTPUO collective agreements.

Requirements

  • Hold an LL.L. or an LL.B. (or equivalent).
  • Be a member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec, the bar of another province, or the Chambre des notaires du Québec.
  • Have significant and relevant professional experience in the field covered by the course and/or hold a graduate degree in that field and/or have contributed to research through academic publications demonstrating recognized expertise in that field.
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Nice To Haves

  • University level teaching experience in a faculty of law is considered an asset.
  • Competence in a second language (passive).

Responsibilities

  • Teach Criminal Law (DCC3102) during the 2027 Winter Semester.
  • Provide instruction in English.
  • Deliver the course on Tuesdays from 19:00 to 22:00.
