About The Position

This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach FLS 2581 J00, an immersion French language course focused on oral and written comprehension, associated with HIS 1510 A00. The course is designed for non-francophone students and aims to develop second language comprehension skills while assisting students in assimilating the content of the discipline course. The professor will also be required to follow the discipline course, HIS 1510 A00, which is taught in person. The language course will be taught in French, while exam responses in the discipline course can be in English or French.

Requirements

Master's degree in French as a Second Language didactics or a relevant field.
Two years of experience teaching French as a Second Language at the university level, or equivalent.
Familiarity with relevant software and technology for teaching French as a Second Language.
Knowledge of immersion pedagogy demonstrated by CV.
Any professor who taught an FLS/ESL course at OLBI before January 1, 2018, is considered to meet the educational requirement.

Responsibilities

Teach FLS 2581 J00, focusing on oral and written comprehension in French as a second language.
Assist students in assimilating the content of the associated discipline course (HIS 1510).
Follow the discipline course HIS 1510 A00.
Ensure the language course is taught in French.
Administer and grade assignments and exams for the language course.
