About The Position

This position is for a Part-Time Professor to teach FLS 2581 A00, an oral and written comprehension French as a Second Language (FSL) course associated with ADM 1700. The course is designed for non-francophone students and aims to develop their second language comprehension skills (listening and reading) while helping them assimilate the subject matter of the discipline. Students in the disciplinary course (ADM 1700) may answer exam questions in English or French, but responses in the language course must be in French only. The FLS professor will also be required to audit the disciplinary course, ADM 1700 A00, which runs on Tuesdays from 17:30 to 18:50 and Thursdays from 17:30 to 18:50 in person. Students may be enrolled in sections A00, B00, or C00 of ADM 1700. This posting is limited to Regular Part-Time Professors.

Requirements

Master's degree in Didactics of French as a Second Language or a relevant field for teaching FSL.
Two years of experience teaching FSL at the university level, or equivalent.
Familiarity with relevant software and technology for teaching FSL courses.
Knowledge of immersion pedagogy demonstrated by CV.
Any professor who taught an FLS/ESL course at OLBI before January 1, 2018, is considered to meet the degree requirement.

Responsibilities

Teach FLS 2581 A00, focusing on oral and written comprehension in French as a Second Language.
Develop students' second language comprehension skills (listening and reading).
Assist students in assimilating the subject matter of the associated disciplinary course (ADM 1700).
Ensure all responses in the language course are submitted in French.
Audit the disciplinary course, ADM 1700 A00, which is held in person on Tuesdays from 17:30-18:50 and Thursdays from 17:30-18:50.
