About The Position

This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor teaching FLS 2581 K00, an oral and written comprehension course in French as a second language, associated with PHI 1501. The course is designed for non-francophone students and aims to develop their listening and reading comprehension skills in French while helping them assimilate the content of the discipline course (PHI 1501). The professor will also be required to follow the discipline course, PHI 1501 B00, which is taught in person. Students may be enrolled in either section B00 or C00 of PHI 1501.

Requirements

Master's degree in French as a Second Language (FLS) didactics or a relevant field.
Two years of experience teaching FLS at the university level, or equivalent.
Familiarity with software and technology relevant to teaching French as a Second Language courses.
Knowledge of immersion pedagogy demonstrated by CV.
Any professor who taught an FLS/ESL course at OLBI before January 1, 2018, is considered to meet the educational requirement.

Responsibilities

Teach FLS 2581 K00, focusing on oral and written comprehension in French as a second language.
Develop students' listening and reading comprehension skills in French.
Assist students in assimilating the material from the associated discipline course (PHI 1501).
Follow the discipline course, PHI 1501 B00, which is taught in person.
Ensure students understand the course material and objectives.
