About The Position
This is a new position for the Fall 2026 academic period, teaching FLS 2581 V00, an immersion French language course focused on oral and written comprehension, associated with POL 1501 A00. The course is designed for non-francophone students aiming to develop second language comprehension skills and assimilate course material from a given discipline. While exam answers in the discipline course (POL 1501) can be in English or French, answers in the language course must be in French. The professor will teach the language course and also attend the discipline course, POL 1501 A00, which runs virtually on Tuesdays from 19:00 to 21:50. The language course (FLS 2581 V00) will be taught in person on Thursdays from 11:30 to 13:00. This posting is limited to Regular Part-Time Professors.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Didactics of French as a Second Language or a relevant field.
- Two years of experience teaching FSL at the university level, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with relevant software and technology for teaching FSL.
- Knowledge of immersion pedagogy demonstrated by CV.
- Professors who taught an FLS/ESL course at OLBI before January 1, 2018, are considered to meet the degree requirement.
Responsibilities
- Teach the French as a Second Language (FSL) course FLS 2581 V00.
- Develop students' second language comprehension skills (listening and reading).
- Assist students in assimilating course material from the associated discipline.
- Attend the discipline course, POL 1501 A00.
