About The Position

This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach the course PSY6570, Section A00, titled "Déontologie et questions professionnelles" during the Fall 2026 semester. The course involves a systematic review of ethical principles, codes of ethics, and standards of practice related to psychological research and clinical practice. It also introduces the organization of psychology as a profession and discusses recent professional issues. The course component is a lecture, and the expected enrollment is 20 students. The course is proposed to be delivered in-person.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in Professional Psychology (CPA or APA-accredited)
  • Registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario to provide clinical psychology services
  • Excellent knowledge of the Canadian Code of Ethics and the ethical decision-making process
  • Excellent knowledge of federal legislation and regulations and of Ontario legislation, regulations and standards of practice affecting the practice of psychology
  • Excellent knowledge of Canadian and Ontario jurisprudence related to the practice of psychology
  • Advanced knowledge of psychology's interaction with the legal system and role/responsibilities of psychologists in the legal system
  • Advanced knowledge of historic, current and emerging policy and related issues affecting the practice of psychology
  • Demonstrated competency incorporating equity, diversity, and inclusion principles in teaching and/or training

Nice To Haves

  • Formal training in anti-racist, anti-discriminatory, anti-oppressive, and inclusive practices is an asset.
  • Relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course PSY6570, Section A00: Déontologie et questions professionnelles.
  • Maintain the original assigned mode of course delivery (in-person).
  • Inform the School of Psychology Secretariat promptly if a class needs to be cancelled.
  • Arrange for a suitable replacement instructor if aware in advance of an upcoming absence.
  • Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
