About The Position
This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach FLS 2581 P00, an oral and written comprehension course in French as a second language, associated with ITI 1520. The course is designed for non-francophone students and aims to develop their second language comprehension skills (listening and reading) while helping them assimilate the subject matter of the discipline. The professor will teach the language course and also attend the discipline course (ITI 1520). The course will be delivered in person.
Requirements
- Master's degree in French as a Second Language didactics or a relevant field.
- Two years of experience teaching French as a Second Language at the university level, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with software and technology relevant to teaching French as a Second Language courses.
- Knowledge of immersion pedagogy demonstrated by the CV.
- Professors who taught an FLS/ESL course at OLBI before January 1, 2018, are considered to meet the degree requirement.
Responsibilities
- Teach the French as a second language course (FLS 2581 P00).
- Develop students' second language comprehension skills (listening and reading).
- Assist students in assimilating the subject matter of the associated discipline course (ITI 1520).
- Attend the discipline course (ITI 1520 A00).
