Production Team Member
About The Position
Smurfit Westrock is hiring a Production Team Member for its union packaging manufacturing facility in Camillus, New York. The role supports fast-paced production by performing production-related tasks safely, assisting machine operators with job functions and machine setup, conducting quality checks, and keeping the work area clean, organized, and safe. Team members learn manufacturing processes and operate complex machinery, with opportunities to develop skills for future advancement. Employees must be available for any shift; shift placement is determined after training. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with required daily and weekend/Saturday overtime. Starting pay is $20.96 per hour. After training and certification following a 60-day working probationary period, pay ranges from $23.86 to $28.48 per hour, plus a shift differential for second and third shifts. Medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits begin on the first of the month following 30 days of employment. After successfully completing the 60-day probationary period, employees receive 40 hours of PTO and 8 hours of personal time. First-year vacation is prorated to the employee's start date. Candidates must undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional offer and before starting employment.
Requirements
- Ability to operate various manufacturing equipment and follow work instructions.
- Commitment to safety and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the shift.
- Flexibility to work first, second, or third shift based on business needs.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
