Production Team Member
About The Position
The Production Team Member is a full-time position responsible for an assigned portion of the production line. The line has four positions with distinct food manufacturing and quality-control responsibilities; team members may rotate between positions daily or as needed. The team primarily packages bulk powdered or granular food products using packaging machinery and also produces products by hand. The facility is in Vista, California and typically operates Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with some exceptions. Team members perform daily cleaning and sanitizing to maintain equipment and the facility, and may take on other duties assigned by a manager or supervisor.
Requirements
- Communicate effectively in English.
- Perform repetitive motions and lift, bend, push, and stand for extended periods; lifting may include up to 55 pounds.
- Follow food safety procedures, including washing hands and wearing gloves, coats, and hairnets.
- Demonstrate teamwork and communication skills.
- Work independently and at a fast pace.
- Maintain regular attendance.
Responsibilities
- Hopper: Keep the hopper filled with product and help replenish bags for the Pulser position.
- Pulser: Set the pace of production, fill bags, and manage the augur filler setting; lift individual bags weighing 8 ounces to 5 pounds.
- Sealer: Take filled bags, verify their weight, and run them through the band sealer; ensure the lot number, best-by date, and seal are accurate on each bag. This position involves moderate movement and pivoting between the Pulser and seal machine, and lifting bags weighing 8 ounces to 5 pounds.
- Boxer: Take completed bags from large bins and pack them into 18 × 15 × 9-inch boxes in quantities determined by product requirements; move large bins, label outer boxes, and stretch-wrap completed pallets. This position involves frequent lifting and bending.
- Clean and sanitize equipment and the facility daily.
- Perform other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.
