About The Position

PGI is a growing organic herb, spice, and botanical importing and production company that uses food-safety, handling, and management practices to ensure product quality. The Production Supervisor directs plant production activities to produce quality products at the lowest cost, in line with company schedules and policies and customer requirements. The role plans, organizes, and schedules production capacity, staffing, equipment, and outside resources to minimize losses and optimize profitability within the budget. The position is listed for 1st and 2nd shifts.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience as a Production/Operations Supervisor.
Bilingual Spanish-speaking ability is required.
Proven track record of successfully training employees in productivity and safety.
Ability to coach and mentor employees individually and in groups.
Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques.
Knowledge of raw materials.
Knowledge of quality systems and standards.
Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance.
Knowledge of human resource principles and practices.
Knowledge of machines and tools.

Nice To Haves

A bachelor's degree in engineering, a technical field, or a related field is desirable but not required.
Food industry experience.

Responsibilities

Oversee the production process.
Identify internal and external resources needed for production.
Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed.
Partner with Maintenance in the equipment selection process.
Monitor product standards in partnership with Quality department requirements and implement quality-control programs.
Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed.
Identify training and development needs for team members.
Direct plant production activities to meet customer requirements while controlling costs and working within the budget.
Plan, organize, and schedule production capacity, manpower, equipment, and outside resources to minimize losses.
