About The Position

Southern Industries Home Improvement is seeking an experienced Service Technician to service and assess home improvement products, provide accurate measurements and repairs, and help ensure customer satisfaction. The role involves working with products including gutters, windows, vinyl siding, bath and shower remodels, and attic insulation. The technician may also assist with installation work, warehouse tasks, and material preparation or pickup. The position is typically Monday through Friday, with flexible hours that may include some evenings and occasional Saturdays.

Requirements

• Experience in carpentry, trim carpentry, construction, or in-home renovation.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and occasional Saturdays.
• Ability to take accurate measurements using a tape measure.
• Ability to use power tools such as a drill and jigsaw.
• Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Reasoning ability to understand and carry out detailed written, illustrated, or oral instructions.
• Computer skills and basic knowledge of office equipment.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to communicate with people, and willingness to take initiative and work independently.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to use a metal brake.
• Ability to use a level and combination square.

Responsibilities

• Service company products accurately and professionally.
• Assist the Production Manager.
• Maintain the company vehicle, including cleaning it and taking it in for service.
• Help with installation jobs, independently or as part of a team.
• When service work is caught up, assist in the warehouse with cleaning, organizing, unloading trucks, preparing and loading installation materials, and picking up materials as needed.
• Represent the company and strive for 100% customer satisfaction.
• Provide complete and accurate client feedback after jobs are completed.
• Arrive ready to work on schedule, maintain a positive attitude, and work as a team player.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
