About The Position

SMBC Group is seeking an experienced Production Platform Support Manager to lead reliability, scalability, performance, and operational excellence for high-volume electronic trading and middle- and back-office platforms. The role combines SRE leadership with hands-on production support engineering across automation, observability, incident, change, release, and problem management, business continuity planning, and front-to-back trading systems. The manager will lead and mentor SREs and production engineers, establish reliability objectives and operational standards, and own production stability for critical trading platforms. Supported systems include order and execution management systems, market data platforms, FIX gateways and exchange connectivity, pre-trade risk systems, algorithmic trading platforms, and trade capture and post-trade systems. The role partners with technology and business stakeholders to establish priorities and roadmaps, ensures appropriate support coverage—including participation in a 24x7 support model based on business requirements—and leads reliability improvements, major incident reviews, and disaster recovery activities. The position is part of SMBC’s hybrid workforce model, with employees working from home and an SMBC office. Employees must live within a reasonable commuting distance of their office location; the specific hybrid schedule will be discussed during interviews. The anticipated salary range is $170,000–$227,000, with possible eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award. SMBC also offers a competitive portfolio of employee benefits.
