About The Position

JustFoodForDogs is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Production Associate to prepare and cook pet food recipes, maintain cleanliness, and follow health and safety standards. The role involves preparing ingredients, cooking, mixing, and packaging pet food batches, and maintaining accurate production records. The position is part-time and based in Sherman Oaks, California.

Requirements

• Previous experience in food preparation, commercial kitchens, or food production is preferred but not required.
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to accuracy, cleanliness, and quality when following recipes and food production standards.
• Basic communication skills to work effectively with kitchen staff and management.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen and production teams.
• Punctuality and reliability in meeting assigned shift schedules.
• Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, food safety standards related to pet food production.
• Willingness to work early mornings, nights, weekends, or overtime as needed based on production demands.
• Commitment to attendance and punctuality, flexibility with scheduling, and proactive communication about conflicts or emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Weigh, measure, and prepare raw ingredients according to recipes.
• Operate kitchen equipment to cook, mix, and package pet food batches while ensuring consistency and quality.
• Follow recipes and production guidelines to create nutritionally balanced pet meals.
• Follow food safety and hygiene regulations when handling raw materials and cooked products.
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and workspaces.
• Record batch information and ingredient usage for quality control and traceability.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing ingredients and supplies, and rotate inventory properly.
• Follow sanitation guidelines, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, and comply with company and legal safety protocols.
