Intel Foundry Product Yield Development Engineer

Intel Corporation•Austin, TX
•$141,910 - $269,100•Onsite

About The Position

As a Product Yield Development Engineer in Intel’s Logic Technology Development organization, you will advance process technologies by identifying root-cause yield limiters and driving solutions that improve manufacturability and yield across technology nodes. You will support the introduction of new products, process improvements, and methodologies that meet manufacturing goals in a fast-paced environment. The role develops methods, processes, and systems to analyze diverse data sources, extract insights, model yield, and guide technology yield milestones. It also involves collaborating with design teams, equipment vendors, and internal partners to resolve yield issues, enable design-technology co-optimization, improve product quality, and develop AI/ML and computational tools connecting design and manufacturing. You may document procedures, train colleagues, and debug equipment, software, or procedural failures in production environments when needed. Intel Foundry Technology Development has more than 15,000 employees and conducts research, develops process and packaging technologies, and manages high-volume manufacturing. This role requires an on-site presence. The primary location is Hillsboro, Oregon, with an additional location in Austin, Texas.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in a semiconductor science-related STEM field such as engineering, physical science, or computer science, or a related field, and 2 or more years of experience in advanced semiconductor devices and process flow; alternatively, a master’s degree in such a field and 4 or more years of that experience.
  • Experience may be gained through schoolwork, classes, research, relevant previous employment, and/or internships.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 or more years of experience with data analysis systems and software tools.
  • 2 or more years of experience in yield projection with EOL signals and in-line parameters.
  • Project or program management experience, with strong self-initiative and self-learning capabilities.
  • A proven track record of working across organizations through matrix structures to accomplish strategic objectives amid conflicting priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze diverse big data sources for defect-mode understanding and yield modeling.
  • Perform statistical analysis, create visualizations, and construct process-development roadmaps that drive technology yield milestones.
  • Extract insights from structured and unstructured data using advanced statistics, machine learning, and coding techniques.
  • Organize and interpret fab process, defect, and electrical data; identify anomalies and drive process changes to enhance yield.
  • Develop multivariate algorithms and tools to identify root-cause yield limiters and recommend process changes for improvement.
  • Collaborate with design teams to resolve yield issues and ensure manufacturability across process and product specifications before production ramp.
  • Execute new product introductions, enable design-technology co-optimization, and participate in design of experiments with factory task forces.
  • Develop measurement recipes for rapid feedback on product integrity and address issues affecting yield or product quality.
  • Create and harden systems for operational needs at leading-edge logic nodes, working with equipment vendors and internal collaborators.
  • Develop AI/ML applications and computational tools to bridge design and manufacturing, improve design efficiency, and reduce debug time.
  • Document technical procedures, train colleagues, and debug equipment, software, and procedural failures in production environments when required.
