About The Position

This role is the first Product Marketing Manager at Spade, offering the opportunity to shape the function from scratch, work directly with product, sales, and the executive team, and have significant influence in a fast-paced environment with established clients like Stripe, Bilt, Mercury, PayPal, and Citizens.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in B2B marketing with product marketing as the core craft, at Seed to Series C companies.
  • Ability to take an objective, set a plan, and execute it to completion, partnering daily with founders and enterprise sellers.
  • Hands-on experience building decks, writing content, running campaigns, and performing segmentation.
  • Fintech or financial services experience; payments, banking, card, or transaction data is ideal.
  • Experience building AI systems (not just tools) for product marketing tasks such as competitive monitoring, buyer and call research, message testing, or enablement production.
  • Experience building positioning and messaging from a blank page for a technical product, with the ability to articulate the reasoning behind it.
  • Experience running launches for an enterprise, sales-led motion, including enablement that drove seller adoption of the message and measurable outcomes.
  • Exceptional writing skills with a high quality bar, focusing on customer wins.
  • Based in NYC with the ability to work out of the Flatiron office at least 2 days/week.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience running customer research firsthand, including buyer interviews, mining recorded sales calls, win/loss analysis, and translating insights into positioning.
  • Experience selling into banks or large financial institutions, particularly with buying committees of five to ten-plus stakeholders, procurement and legal gates, and multi-quarter cycles.
  • Prior work on pricing and packaging, especially transitioning a company from a single product to a multi-product structure with a strong expansion strategy.
  • Experience directing contractors and agencies across design, content, video, and web to produce high-quality work.

Responsibilities

  • Own positioning and messaging for the Spade platform and every product within it, ensuring it remains updated as the product line expands and changes.
  • Run product launches end-to-end, including messaging, proof points, assets, channel plans, internal rollout, and measurement.
  • Build sales enablement materials that Account Executives (AEs) will actively use, such as pitch decks, talk tracks, demo narratives, sales collateral, and 1:1 and 1:many collateral and campaigns, including objection handling.
  • Own competitive and market intelligence, keeping it current through live deals, including addressing the build-in-house case that arises in large accounts.
  • Own customer proof, including case studies, reference stories, the proof library, and the research supporting these narratives.
  • Act as a liaison between product and the market, conducting buyer research, analyzing win/loss data, and contributing to segmentation and packaging decisions.
