Product Marketing

Pi SecuritySan Francisco, CA

About The Position

Pi is looking for a Product Marketing Manager to help define how we tell our product story and bring new capabilities to market. This is a highly cross-functional, hands-on role at the intersection of marketing, product, and our customers. You’ll become deeply embedded in the product and the market, turning complex technical capabilities into clear, differentiated stories that resonate with product security and application security leaders, CISOs, security engineers, and developers. This is an individual contributor role on the marketing team, reporting to the VP of Marketing. We’re looking for someone who is an exceptional writer, intellectually curious, close to the customer, and equally comfortable shaping positioning and rolling up their sleeves to write the launch blog.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product marketing experience in enterprise B2B cybersecurity technology. Product Security, AppSec, or agentic SDLC experience required.
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills. You can take something technically complex and make it clear, concise, differentiated, and interesting.
  • Experience owning positioning, messaging, and supporting go-to-market for technical products.
  • A strong customer instinct. You want to hear directly from customers and prospects rather than build messaging in a vacuum
  • Experience partnering closely with product and technical teams and enough technical curiosity to understand how the product actually works.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise buyers and the ability to communicate to both executive and practitioner audiences.
  • Experience building competitive intelligence and translating it into positioning and field enablement.
  • A track record of leading product launches from positioning through execution.
  • The ability to operate independently, prioritize ruthlessly, and get things done in a fast-moving startup environment.
  • Low ego and high ownership. You’re comfortable with hands-on execution.
  • Experience helping an emerging company define or shape a new market category.

Responsibilities

  • Own product positioning and messaging. Develop clear, differentiated messaging that connects what Pi does to the problems our customers care about. Translate deeply technical capabilities into simple, compelling value without losing the technical substance.
  • Live in the voice of the customer. Spend time with customers and prospects, listen to prospect and customer calls, and work closely with our field teams to understand how buyers describe their problems, what resonates, what creates friction, and why we win or lose. Turn those insights into better messaging, content, and product feedback.
  • Support product and feature launches. Partner closely with the product team to understand what’s coming, determine how significant it is, build the narrative, and support the go-to-market strategy and execution across marketing, customer success, and sales.
  • Build the content that brings the product story to life. You love words, and you love to write. Write and develop product pages, launch content, customer stories, solution briefs, technical collateral, presentations, thought leadership, videos, and other assets that make complex ideas easy to understand and hard to forget.
  • Own competitive and market intelligence. Develop a deep understanding of the product security and appsec landscape, emerging technologies, buyer priorities, and competitors. Help define where Pi is different and equip the company to communicate that differentiation clearly.
  • Enable the field with messaging, presentations, battlecards, competitive insights, customer proof, and training they need to tell the Pi story confidently and win.
  • Help shape the category. Product security is changing quickly as AI transforms how software is built. You’ll help Pi develop a strong point of view on where the market is going and establish the narratives that define our position within it.
