Product Manager, Growth

Glean•Mountain View, CA
•$175,000 - $280,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Glean is seeking a strategic, execution-oriented Product Manager to define and build its Growth product area. The role focuses on product-led growth, platform-level activation, off-surface engagement, and broader product growth strategy. The Product Manager will design the loops, surfaces, and experiences that turn first-touch curiosity into lasting and expanding usage, driving activation, retention, and organic growth across users and teams. Working closely with the Product lead and partners across engineering, design, data, marketing, and go-to-market teams, this person will identify high-leverage growth opportunities, bring structure to an ambiguous space, and translate growth concepts into measurable product experiences. The role is part of a lean product team and will help shape both the roadmap and the product team itself. It calls for deep PLG and growth knowledge, enthusiasm for AI, and the ability to specify detailed product implementations such as interfaces, onboarding flows, and experiments.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of product management experience.
  • Track record of owning and shipping growth, activation, or product-led growth product areas in B2B SaaS, consumer, AI, or platform products.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Fluency in growth mechanics, including funnels, activation, retention, virality, and lifecycle.
  • Analytical ability to define metrics, instrument funnels, and interpret results with engineering and data teams; uses data and experimentation to guide decisions.
  • Strong product sense and detailed product thinking, with the ability to move between strategy and execution and specify onboarding and adoption experiences.
  • Deep interest in AI and enterprise software, and ability to create clarity, momentum, and alignment in ambiguous environments.
  • Excellent communication, ownership, initiative, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with a learning and growth mindset.
  • Mission-first approach and interest in using AI in one’s own work and helping customers accelerate AI adoption.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, quantitative, or design-related field, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, HCI, or Statistics.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the Growth product strategy and roadmap, translating company vision into focused bets across activation, retention, and expansion using funnel data, experimentation, and customer behavior.
  • Own the product-led growth motion from acquisition and onboarding through activation, habit formation, and self-serve expansion; build loops that extend adoption from individuals to teams and organizations.
  • Build platform-level growth capabilities, including referrals, invitations, notifications, in-product education, and lifecycle messaging across product surfaces.
  • Drive off-surface growth through entry points where users already work, including the browser extension, email, Slack, Teams, and mobile.
  • Partner with engineering, design, and data teams to turn ambiguous concepts into scoped products and experiments, with clear user flows, interaction patterns, instrumentation, quality standards, and measurable outcomes.
  • Develop a rigorous experimentation and measurement culture by defining activation and retention metrics, instrumenting the funnel, and running A/B tests.
  • Prioritize customer-focused work and execute efficiently, balancing long-term platform opportunities with user pain points, strategic customer requests, and company priorities.
  • Collaborate with go-to-market, marketing, solutions, and support teams to understand customer problems and align growth strategy with how users adopt and share Glean.
  • Maintain a high bar for product craft by specifying concrete onboarding flows, UI behavior, and adoption paths.

  • Opportunity to contribute to a 401(k) plan.
