Product Manager

Flexion Robotics•San Francisco, CA

About The Position

Flexion is building an intelligence layer for humanoid robots, with the goal of moving from prototypes to real-world deployment. The Product Manager will own the whole-body controller as a product, the foundation of Flexion’s autonomy stack and the first product partners integrate. The role focuses on scaling its use across thousands and eventually hundreds of thousands of robots. Working with research, infrastructure, go-to-market teams, and customers, the Product Manager will define how the controller is packaged, positioned, and measured; determine which robot-integration steps should become tooling or self-service; and shape the developer SDK. The role also helps define customer engagement and pricing, gathers customer feedback, and works with research and engineering to decide what to build and productize.

Requirements

  • Product management experience with technical B2B products, ideally developer platforms, SDKs, or ML products, at a high-growth startup or top technology company.
  • Strong technical foundation, with a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or equivalent experience.
  • Working understanding of robot learning and control, including whole-body controllers, training policies in simulation, and differences in behavior on real hardware.
  • Experience defining evaluations or benchmarks for ML models or autonomy systems and using results to inform decisions and customer-facing claims.
  • Experience working directly with B2B technical customers, ideally supporting integrations into third-party hardware or platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to write product specifications, customer updates, and positioning narratives.
  • Comfort operating in an early-stage, fast-moving environment with broad scope and ambiguity.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites across Europe and beyond, up to 15%.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with humanoids, legged robots, or other physical systems, including reinforcement learning, sim-to-real transfer, or system identification.
  • Experience launching or open-sourcing models and building adoption in a research or developer community.
  • Prior work on evaluation frameworks, model training pipelines, or agentic AI products.
  • A strong instinct for product-market fit in a developing category.

Responsibilities

  • Own the whole-body controller as a product, including its packaging, positioning, target personas, and customer-relevant metrics; work with research on evaluating those metrics.
  • Own productization of new robot integrations, decide which steps should become tooling or self-service, and drive a roadmap to reduce onboarding time for each new robot.
  • Collaborate with go-to-market and marketing teams on customer pitches, engagement models, positioning, strategy, and pricing through the sales process.
  • Maintain customer feedback loops with OEM engineering teams, visit integration sites, and translate feedback into prioritized requirements.
  • Define product needs for the SDK, including developer configuration, deployment, monitoring, and debugging capabilities, and guide its evolution as more robots use the stack.
  • Partner with research and engineering to decide what to build and productize, and track adoption using quantitative and qualitative signals.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation.
  • Enhanced pension plan.
  • Enhanced holiday and paid leave perks.
