Product Manager, Mobile

InfillaSan Francisco, CA
$140,000 - $200,000Hybrid

About The Position

Infilla is looking for a product manager to take Inspections and Code Enforcement products from nothing to live so Infilla can offer a full permitting system to jurisdictions. Infilla’s mission is to make more housing happen faster. The U.S. is short 4-7 million homes, and local permitting is one of the top bottlenecks with approvals taking months to years. Infilla is building the modern permitting platform that helps local governments review projects faster, more consistently, and more transparently. Customers include San Francisco, New York City, and the State of Delaware, among others. We’re backed by Basis Set Ventures, Base10 Partners, Urban Innovation Fund, SHAKTI VC, 20Growth, Bloomberg Beta, and 20+ founders/operators who’ve built products at scale.

Requirements

  • Has shipped a 0-to-1 B2B mobile product
  • Has been a founding or early PM at a seed or Series A company
  • Has shipped AI features users actually rely on, and uses AI in the work itself
  • Product judgment. Prioritizes ruthlessly and cuts scope — runs field research and uses product analytics to identify the core problems worth solving and leaves the rest. Designs for how work actually happens.
  • Ownership with urgency. Treats shipping as how you learn and would rather be wrong in front of users than right in a doc.
  • Stakeholder management. Can get a room of inspectors to give up a process they like.
  • Systems thinking. Knows which decisions are cheap to reverse and which ones lock in, and defers the rest instead of building for a flexibility no one has asked for yet.
  • Written communication. Structures a clear and cohesive argument, states the recommendation up front, and cuts what doesn't serve the reader.
  • Multiple products to own — 2 products plus discovery; prioritization is critical
  • Government stakeholders — code enforcement officers, inspectors, and government leadership all want different things
  • 0-to-1 ambiguity — you're building complex products from scratch
  • High independence — support is available, but you drive your areas
  • Slow domain, fast team — government moves slowly; we don't

Nice To Haves

  • Has built for government or slow-moving enterprise customers
  • Is a former founder beyond being a solopreneur or consultant

Responsibilities

  • Inspections product is live within 3 months of start with inspectors’ old process retired
  • Code Enforcement product is live within 5 months of start with code enforcement officers’ old process retired
  • Independently gets features from spec to trained users fast, including the unglamorous last mile of training, migration, and chasing adoption after launch.
  • Works with government staff whose stated requests conflict with each other and with what they actually need — identifies who decides, builds champions, gets to the need under the request, and pushes back diplomatically when the answer is no.
  • Fits new products into what already exists rather than designing them in isolation.
  • Writes specs, updates, and decisions that a busy reader understands in one pass.
  • Deep dive into code enforcement & inspections space
  • Shadow government staff at 1–2 agencies to ground your product intuition
  • Build working relationships with engineering and design
  • Represent Infilla in customer conversations related to your product areas
  • Share AI prototypes with stakeholders for early feedback
  • Start executing a finalized roadmap to build inspections & code enforcement modules
  • Collaborate deeply with design and engineering to deliver MVP versions of the products
  • Be a net-positive force on the team — provide clarity and drive answers to enable others to do their best work
