About The Position

As a Product Engineer in Lam Research’s Global Products Group, you will help design and engineer etch and deposition products for the semiconductor industry. You will collaborate with customers and internal teams to address technical challenges, improve products, and support product development in a dynamic environment. The role spans product prototyping, development, deployment and release, as well as initial field support. It involves customer engagement, including international travel to customer sites, and work in a cleanroom lab and/or customer semiconductor fab environment.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optics, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, with 8+ years of experience; or a PhD with 5+ years of experience; or equivalent experience.
Exceptional analytical and experimental design skills.
Creative thinking, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.
Clear communication and presentation skills.
Comfortable traveling up to 25% of the time.

Nice To Haves

Prior product design and technical engineering experience.
Experience designing, specifying, building, operating, and maintaining semiconductor, automotive, aerospace, or related hardware, tools, and equipment.
Experience leading cross-functional teams.
Bilingual ability in English and Mandarin.

Responsibilities

Collaboratively develop semiconductor equipment and process design solutions to resolve customer issues and improve product quality.
Lead product development projects through prototyping, development, deployment/product release, and initial field support.
Independently design and conduct experiments, tests, and prototypes to resolve complex technical problems.
Present analyses and technical recommendations clearly and concisely.
Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to guide product specification and development.
Provide technical support for installation and for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and debugging complex product issues.
Engage with customers, including face-to-face interactions and international travel to support product releases and resolve customer issues.
Work in a cleanroom lab and/or customer semiconductor fab environment.
