Mandarin-English Bilingual Junior Engineer
About The Position
Leakproof Piping System Inc. is seeking a Junior Engineer to support its growing team in the United States. The company is a joint venture between Li Jie Industrial Co., Ltd. and another Taiwan-based engineering company. Its founders have more than 20 years of experience in pipeline system installation and maintenance and engineering plastic materials, with project experience serving companies including TSMC, UMC, and Chi Mei Optoelectronics. The Junior Engineer will assist in monitoring and managing engineering processes so they align with company standards, policies, and procedures. Working closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, the role supports project execution, continuous improvement, and high-quality operational performance. The position also involves English-Mandarin translation and interpretation for technical documents, meetings, site discussions, and client communications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Basic understanding of industrial piping systems, fluid dynamics, and engineering plastic materials such as PVC, CPVC, PFA, and PVDF.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, technical documents, and installation manuals.
- Valid OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour Construction Certification.
- Proficiency in both English and Mandarin, including verbal and written communication.
- Willingness to work at construction sites and in cleanroom or controlled environments while wearing required PPE and cleanroom garments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, safety, and compliance.
- Good communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn from senior engineers and develop hands-on technical capabilities.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other engineering design software.
- Internship or work experience in the semiconductor, chemical, piping, or related industries.
Responsibilities
- Assist with installation, inspection, and maintenance of industrial piping systems, including PVC, CPVC, PFA, PVDF, and other engineering plastic materials.
- Support senior engineers with project execution, site preparation, material coordination, and on-site engineering activities.
- Assist with basic system testing, leak detection, troubleshooting, and equipment adjustments.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documents, technical drawings, inspection records, and project progress reports.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors regarding engineering materials, specifications, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor on-site work for compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and applicable safety requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, quality, safety, and other teams to support project schedules and resolve operational issues.
- Translate technical documents, engineering instructions, emails, and project communications between English and Mandarin.
- Provide English-Mandarin interpretation during engineering meetings, site discussions, and client communications as needed.
- Learn and apply industry-standard installation methods, cleanroom protocols, and engineering documentation practices.
