About The Position

Clerk is seeking a Product Designer to join its globally distributed Design team and help elevate the Clerk brand. The designer will optimize customer delight, flexibility, and ease of use in a complex technical domain, working alongside visual designers, UI engineers, product designers, animators, and other collaborators. The role includes leading creative direction and personally shipping brand assets across the brand identity, website, product launches, and other areas. The designer will develop innovative approaches and scalable tools for high-quality brand output, set a high bar for pixel-level quality in collaboration with UI Engineering, and strengthen Clerk’s visual language, asset library, brand design system, and design processes.

Clerk is on a mission to solve user management and provides developers with full-stack React components and hooks for user and organization management. Its Dashboard is used to configure components and manage app users.

Requirements

• Senior-or-higher-level Brand Designer or Visual Designer.
• Experience working with developer tools, AI, or infrastructure-related brands.
• Deep understanding of designing interactive software for the web.
• Iterative, ship-and-iterate approach and comfort with the pace of a growing startup.
• Self-starter who can work autonomously and proactively find problems to solve.
• Based in the Americas within ±3 hours of U.S. Mountain Time (MDT, UTC−06:00).

Nice To Haves

• Ability to author production-ready front-end code.

Responsibilities

• Lead creative direction and design, and personally ship brand assets, including brand identity, the website, and product launches.
• Collaborate with UI engineers, animators, product designers, and others to create an elevated brand identity.
• Use innovative approaches to bring digital experiences to life and create scalable tools that increase high-quality brand output.
• Work with UI Engineering to bring Figma designs to life and maintain a high standard of quality.
• Support and expand Clerk’s visual language, asset library, brand design system, and design processes.
