About The Position

FluxCap is seeking a part-time contract Product Designer to work with its engineering and legal teams on core product workflows. The role focuses on making complex legal work clear and manageable by helping lawyers understand what matters, where evidence comes from, and what to do next. The designer will research how lawyers work, translate complicated workflows into clear interactions and polished interfaces, design experiences for reviewing AI-generated work and inspecting sources, and collaborate with engineers through implementation. The role is hybrid or remote in NYC, DC, United States. The hourly rate is $70–$155, with an expected commitment of 15–30 hours per week and an initial contract of 2–3 months.

Requirements

• A portfolio showing thoughtful UX and strong visual craft in shipped digital products.
• Experience making information-heavy or professional tools easier to use.
• Comfort moving from an open question to a testable design, with clear explanations of design choices.
• Experience collaborating with engineers and working within an existing product.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with AI products is useful.
• Legal experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Talk with lawyers and the team to understand how they research, review evidence, and develop a case.
• Turn complicated workflows into clear interactions, prototypes, and polished interfaces.
• Design how people review AI-generated work, inspect sources, and make corrections.
• Work closely with engineers through implementation and refine the product’s design patterns.
