About The Position

AlphaSense is seeking a Senior/Staff Product Designer for a senior individual-contributor role on its growing Design team. The designer will shape the product experience of AlphaSense’s AI-native market-intelligence platform, turning complex, data-rich problems and advanced AI capabilities into intuitive, cohesive experiences grounded in customer workflows. The role spans strategic design initiatives from early concept through execution, balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints while bringing clarity to ambiguity and defining scalable end-to-end workflows. The designer will partner closely with Product, Engineering, and AI teams to develop high-quality experiences and define intuitive, trustworthy AI-native workflows. As a senior member of the team, they will mentor designers, contribute to design systems and patterns, and help raise the bar for craft and consistency. The role helps establish a workflow-centric product experience that enables customers to move from information to insight to decisions with speed and confidence.

Requirements

At least 10 years of product design experience.
A strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in interaction design, systems thinking, and delivery of high-quality, user-centered experiences.
Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
Deep expertise in designing end-to-end customer workflows and simplifying complex, data-rich problems into intuitive product experiences.
High proficiency with design and prototyping tools, including the ability to communicate ideas through flows, systems, and high-fidelity prototypes.
Strong collaboration skills with engineering teams and working knowledge of modern web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Ability to lead complex projects end-to-end, navigate ambiguity, and drive clarity across cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Curiosity, thoughtfulness, drive, and the ability to quickly build context, form strong points of view, and move work forward.

Nice To Haves

Experience with React or similar frameworks.
Experience in financial services, investment workflows, or data-heavy SaaS products.
Experience leveraging AI in the design process, from research and ideation through prototyping and iteration, and fluency with modern AI tools and workflows.
Awareness of emerging AI and search technologies, with initiative to apply new capabilities to product experiences.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-fidelity prototypes, interaction models, and end-to-end experiences that communicate product vision and build strategic alignment across stakeholders.
Turn customer insights from interviews, surveys, and usability testing into actionable product direction, championing customer empathy throughout product development.
Define and drive design strategy for key initiatives, aligning company goals, user needs, business outcomes, and product direction.
Partner with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex requirements into intuitive, high-quality experiences that scale.
Deliver highly crafted solutions and elevate team quality by contributing to the design system, evolving patterns, and shaping best practices.
Design for systems as well as screens, advancing the design system to support product consistency, scalability, and cohesion.
Track industry trends, emerging technologies, and AI capabilities, applying relevant ideas to improve product experiences.
Communicate complex ideas clearly and influence stakeholders to maintain alignment and momentum.
Collaborate with Engineering during development, advocate for design quality, and uphold a high standard for execution, usability, and detail.
Mentor and develop other designers, helping raise the bar for craft, systems thinking, and execution.
