About The Position

AlphaSense is seeking a Senior/Staff Product Designer to help shape the future of its AI-native product experience. This is a senior individual-contributor role focused on leading strategic design initiatives, translating complex, data-rich problems into intuitive experiences, and defining cohesive end-to-end customer workflows. The designer will partner closely with Product, Engineering, and AI teams from early concept through execution, balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints to deliver differentiated, high-quality experiences. The role will help establish intuitive, trustworthy AI-native workflows and make complex information easier for customers to turn into insight and decisions. As a senior member of the Design team, the designer will mentor colleagues, contribute to design systems and patterns, and raise craft and consistency across the product. The role requires a strong focus on customer workflows, design quality, systems thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

10+ years of product design experience.
A strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in interaction design, systems thinking, and high-quality user-centered experiences.
Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
Deep expertise in designing end-to-end customer workflows and simplifying complex, data-rich problems into intuitive product experiences.
High proficiency with design and prototyping tools, including the ability to communicate ideas through flows, systems, and high-fidelity prototypes.
Strong collaboration with engineering teams and working knowledge of modern web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Ability to use AI to augment the design process, from research and ideation through prototyping and iteration, and to build fluency with modern AI tools and workflows.
Awareness of emerging AI and search technologies, with curiosity and initiative to apply new capabilities to product experiences.
Ability to lead complex projects end-to-end, navigate ambiguity, and drive clarity across cross-functional teams.
Experience mentoring and developing designers and raising the bar for craft, systems thinking, and execution.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Curiosity, thoughtfulness, drive, and ability to quickly build context, form points of view, and move work forward.

Nice To Haves

Experience with React or similar frameworks.
Experience in financial services, investment workflows, or data-heavy SaaS products.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-fidelity prototypes, interaction models, and end-to-end experiences that communicate product vision and build strategic alignment.
Translate customer insights from interviews, surveys, and usability testing into actionable product direction and champion customer empathy throughout product development.
Define and drive design strategy for key initiatives, aligning company goals, user needs, business outcomes, and product direction.
Partner with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to turn complex requirements into intuitive, scalable user experiences.
Deliver highly crafted design solutions and elevate team quality by contributing to the design system, evolving patterns, and shaping best practices.
Design for systems, advancing the design system to support consistency, scalability, and cohesion across the product.
Keep up with industry trends, emerging technologies, and AI capabilities, applying relevant ideas to improve product experiences.
Communicate complex ideas clearly and influence stakeholders to maintain alignment and momentum.
Collaborate with Engineering throughout development, advocating for design quality and high standards of execution, usability, and attention to detail.
Mentor other designers and help raise the bar for craft, systems thinking, and execution.
