About The Position

AlphaSense is seeking a Senior/Staff-level individual-contributor Product Designer to help shape its product experience as the company builds an AI-native platform. The designer will lead strategic initiatives, translating complex, data-rich problems into intuitive, high-quality experiences grounded in customer workflows. The role involves bringing clarity to ambiguity, defining end-to-end workflows, and making product experiences cohesive and scalable from early concept through execution. Working closely with Product, Engineering, and AI teams, the designer will balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints. As a senior member of the Design team, the designer will mentor colleagues, contribute to design systems and patterns, and elevate craft and consistency. The role will help define AI-native workflows that are intuitive, trustworthy, and integrated into customers’ daily work, enabling them to move from information to insight to decisions with speed and confidence.

Requirements

10+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in interaction design, systems thinking, and high-quality user-centered experiences.
Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
Deep expertise in designing end-to-end customer workflows and simplifying complex, data-rich problems into intuitive product experiences.
High proficiency with design and prototyping tools and the ability to communicate ideas through flows, systems, and high-fidelity prototypes.
Strong collaboration with engineering teams and working knowledge of modern web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Ability to use AI throughout the design process, including research, ideation, prototyping, and iteration, and to build fluency with modern AI tools and workflows.
Awareness of emerging AI and search technologies, with curiosity and initiative to apply new capabilities to product experiences.
Proven ability to lead complex projects end-to-end, navigate ambiguity, and drive clarity across cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing other designers.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills, including the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Highly curious, thoughtful, and driven, with the ability to build context quickly, form strong points of view, and move work forward.

Nice To Haves

Experience with React or similar frameworks.
Experience in financial services, investment workflows, or data-heavy SaaS products.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-fidelity prototypes, interaction models, and end-to-end experiences that communicate product vision and build strategic alignment.
Turn customer insights from interviews, surveys, and usability testing into actionable product direction and champion customer empathy throughout product development.
Define and drive design strategy for key initiatives, aligning company goals, user needs, business outcomes, and product direction.
Partner with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to turn complex requirements into intuitive, high-quality experiences that scale.
Contribute to the design system, evolve patterns, and shape best practices to elevate design quality across the team.
Design for systems rather than just screens, advancing the design system to support consistency, scalability, and product cohesion.
Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and AI capabilities, applying relevant ideas to improve product experiences.
Communicate complex ideas clearly and influence stakeholders to maintain cross-functional alignment and momentum.
Collaborate with Engineering throughout development, advocating for design quality and a high bar for execution, usability, and attention to detail.
Mentor and develop other designers and help raise the bar for craft, systems thinking, and execution.
