About The Position

Anthropic is seeking a Product Designer for its Safeguards work. Design at Anthropic combines craft, research, and product intuition to shape products used by millions and create new interaction patterns for AI. Designers work closely with engineers and researchers, stay close to evolving model capabilities, prototype rapidly, and navigate ambiguity. The role calls for someone who ships quickly while maintaining attention to visual detail, copy, and edge cases, questions conventional UI assumptions, and uses tools such as Claude Code to extend their design practice. The designer will partner with product managers, engineers, AI researchers, and other stakeholders to define product vision, strategy, and roadmaps, and help ship products. They will understand product architecture, define primitives for new capabilities, and own feature areas with strong attention to detail and polish. The role includes creating polished, trust-building interfaces that demonstrate AI capabilities and finding ways to deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, ambiguous, resource-constrained startup environment. Anthropic expects staff to work from one of its offices at least 25% of the time under its current hybrid policy, though some roles may require more office time. The company offers competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and office space for collaboration.
