Product Catalog Manager

Candescent•Atlanta, GA

About The Position

Candescent is hiring a Product Catalog Manager to oversee governance of its enterprise product portfolio catalog and guide the transition from four separate pricing and packaging systems to a unified model. The role is part of Product Success and is responsible for catalog intake and governance, operating-model maturity, lifecycle management, and evolving the catalog into a scalable Product Knowledge capability. It supports the future-state architecture for Votiv, Forge, and legacy product portfolios, pricing and packaging strategies, bundling models, product lifecycle management, and customer migrations. The manager serves as the primary steward of product portfolio information and coordinates across Product Management, Sales, Finance, Operations, Customer Success, Billing, Contracting, and Technology. The role reports to the Product Knowledge Manager within Product Success. It governs and facilitates catalog processes but does not assume the product, pricing, finance, architecture, or platform decision-making responsibilities of the relevant business and technology leaders. Responsibilities include governing catalog taxonomy, hierarchy, naming, standards, versioning, and lifecycle controls; managing intake and approval workflows; maintaining decision records and audit evidence; and coordinating the Product Catalog Governance Board. The manager acts as business steward for the Zuora Product Catalog, monitors data quality and control adherence, and coordinates cross-functional decisions according to the approved RACI. The role also coordinates readiness for launches, releases, migrations, retirements, and decommissions; tracks dependencies and testing evidence; defines and reports catalog KPIs; and recommends improvements to governance, standards, and tooling.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in product catalog management, product operations, offer management, pricing and packaging, billing operations, or a related SaaS or technology discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience running governance, intake, approval, change-control, and audit-evidence processes.
  • Working knowledge of pricing, packaging, subscription billing, consumption models, and revenue-recognition considerations.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and ability to coordinate decisions without holding domain-owner decision rights.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills, including KPI definition and backlog management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Product Management, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Zuora Product Catalog experience.
  • Familiarity with Zuora Billing, CPQ, CRM, and financial integrations.
  • Advanced degree or certification.

Responsibilities

  • Own enterprise catalog governance, including taxonomy, hierarchy, naming conventions, standards, versioning, and lifecycle controls.
  • Manage intake and governance workflows for new products, SKUs, rate plans, packages, bundles, and charge models.
  • Confirm required inputs, approvals, and documentation are complete before catalog changes advance.
  • Maintain decision records, approval history, and audit-ready evidence.
  • Establish approval and escalation paths for routine, material, and exception changes.
  • Coordinate the Product Catalog Governance Board and escalate unresolved decisions and risks.
  • Serve as business steward for the Zuora Product Catalog across standalone and bundled offerings.
  • Ensure approved offer, pricing, billing, tax, and revenue attributes are accurately represented in partnership with domain owners.
  • Monitor data quality, completeness, and control adherence, and drive remediation with the appropriate owner.
  • Route requests according to the approved RACI and confirm appropriate domain-owner approval.
  • Support alignment on offer design, pricing, billing and financial treatment, data models, integrations, quote configuration, and downstream impacts.
  • Coordinate readiness for product introductions, catalog releases, migrations, retirements, and decommissions.
  • Track dependencies, approvals, testing, deployment activities, risks, and decision blockers.
  • Verify completion and retention of required release and regression-testing evidence.
  • Facilitate lifecycle reviews and backlog prioritization.
  • Define and report catalog KPIs, including change-request cycle time, percentage of changes with complete audit evidence, launch on-time rate, and backlog age.
  • Identify control gaps and process friction, and recommend improvements to governance, standards, and tooling.
  • Report catalog health, decisions, risks, and readiness to Product Knowledge leadership and the Governance Board.
  • Guide the transition from separate pricing and packaging systems to a unified model and support development of a scalable Product Knowledge capability.
