About The Position
WMUR, the ABC affiliate in Manchester, New Hampshire, is hiring a Producer to create meaningful and memorable newscasts. The role calls for creative vision, sound decision-making, clear communication of plans, and the ability to deliver major stories, breaking news, and important weather information accurately and quickly. The Producer works with a newsroom team and reports to the Executive Producer. In-person attendance is required.
Requirements
- Professional or college producing experience.
- Experience working in a newsroom.
- Strong writing and copy-editing skills.
- Ability to coordinate several crews and responsibilities simultaneously.
- Experience summarizing information into easy-to-understand components.
- Creative presentation style and ability to showcase available resources and elements.
- Highest standards of journalistic integrity and ethics.
- Availability to work holidays, nights, weekends, and overnights, and flexibility to be available during breaking news.
- In-person attendance is required.

- Related military experience will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Select, research, and write content for live newscasts to create an engaging experience for viewers.
- Work with and guide reporters in story production.
- Coordinate the creative vision with anchors, reporters, meteorologists, photographers, editors, and production staff.
- Booth assigned newscasts, breaking news, and weather events.
- Manage live timing for newscasts.
