About The Position

Lunardi’s Markets is a local, family-owned grocery chain serving the San Francisco Bay Area, focused on high-quality products and customer service. Produce Clerks provide customer service and help prepare, maintain, and present fresh produce. No experience is required, and on-the-job training is provided. The role involves working with produce-department equipment and tools while following food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards. The position is based in San Bruno.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be reliable and have a positive attitude.
Must be able to work in a sometimes fast-paced environment and multitask while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Must regularly be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
Must be able to stand, walk, and reach or bend for up to 8 hours per day.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service and address customer needs in a timely and effective manner.
Cut and package fresh fruit and vegetables in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards.
Ensure products are fresh and of good quality upon delivery and restocking.
Monitor and maintain proper rotation of fresh produce.
Update and maintain product signage and the appearance of the department.
Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
Use equipment and tools such as box cutters, knives, trash compactors, cardboard balers, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
Handle customer and business information with honesty and integrity.
Protect the safety of oneself, coworkers, and customers, and promptly report safety-related accidents and incidents to management.
