About The Position

Grocery Clerks provide customer service, help customers find products, and support checkout operations. No prior experience is required; on-the-job training is provided. The role may involve using store equipment and tools, including cash registers, box cutters, trash compactors, cardboard balers, forklifts, and pallet jacks. Employees must act honestly and with integrity, protect the safety of themselves and others, and promptly report safety-related accidents and incidents to management. The posting also describes Night Crew Stocker duties, which include working graveyard shifts, monitoring stock, stocking and organizing merchandise, checking product quality and sell-by dates, and reporting ordering or shipping discrepancies. Night Crew Stockers may also work as cashiers when their shift overlaps store business hours. Physical requirements include regularly lifting approximately 20–30 pounds and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, as well as standing, walking, reaching, and bending for up to eight hours per day. Roles are union positions with competitive pay and benefits. Pay is negotiated during the employment interview and determined based on experience.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
No experience required; on-the-job training is provided.

Must be able to work in a sometimes fast-paced environment and multitask while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Must be able to regularly lift approximately 20–30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to stand, walk, reach, and bend for up to eight hours per day.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service and address customer needs in a timely and effective manner.
Learn store products, their general uses, and their locations.
Follow proper customer checkout procedures, including fraud prevention and bagging purchases.
Use store equipment and tools during the shift, including cash registers, box cutters, trash compactors, cardboard balers, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
Act honestly and with integrity in interactions with customers and in following company policies.
Protect the safety of oneself, coworkers, and customers, and promptly report safety-related accidents and incidents to management.
For night crew duties: monitor stock levels in the backroom and on the sales floor.
For night crew duties: stock, rotate, and organize merchandise to maintain an attractive and well-stocked store.
For night crew duties: check product quality and sell-by dates for freshness and compliance.
For night crew duties: report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to a manager.
For night crew duties: possibly work as a cashier if the shift includes store business hours.
