About The Position

Lunardi’s Markets is hiring a Courtesy Clerk in San Bruno. This role is suited to warm, friendly, reliable individuals who enjoy interacting with customers and providing excellent customer service. Employees should maintain a positive attitude, work effectively in a sometimes fast-paced environment, multitask, and observe high standards of safety and quality. Duties include bagging groceries carefully, assisting customers with loading bags into their cars, returning merchandise to shelves, collecting and returning shopping carts and baskets, cleaning spills and picking up trash inside the store and in the parking lot, locating products, and conducting price checks for cashiers. Employees are expected to act honestly and with integrity, follow company policies, and protect the safety of themselves, coworkers, and customers. Safety-related accidents and incidents must be reported to management immediately. The position is a union role with competitive pay and benefits. Pay rates are negotiated during the employment interview and are determined based on the applicant’s experience. Applicants under 18 must furnish a work permit. Physical requirements include regularly lifting about 20 to 30 pounds and standing, walking, reaching, and bending for up to eight hours per day.

Responsibilities

Bag groceries without damaging customers’ items, following best practices for reusable, plastic, and paper bags.
Help customers load bags into their cars.
Return merchandise to store shelves.
Gather shopping carts and baskets and return them to designated areas.
Clean spills and collect and pick up trash inside the store and in the parking lot.
Understand the store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
Act honestly and with integrity in interactions with customers and in following company policies.
Protect the safety of oneself, coworkers, and customers, and immediately report safety-related accidents and incidents to management.
