About The Position

Lunardi’s Markets is hiring a Courtesy Clerk in San Bruno. The role is suited to warm, friendly, reliable, and self-motivated individuals who enjoy interacting with customers, working as part of a team, learning new skills, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality in a potentially fast-paced environment. No experience is required, and on-the-job training is provided. The Courtesy Clerk supports customers and store operations by carefully bagging groceries, helping customers load bags into their cars, returning merchandise to shelves, and gathering carts and baskets. The role also includes cleaning spills, collecting trash inside the store and in the parking lot, helping cashiers locate products and check prices, and acting honestly and safely. Employees must promptly report safety-related accidents and incidents to management. This is a union position with competitive pay and benefits. Pay is negotiated during the employment interview and determined based on the applicant’s experience. The position involves regular lifting of approximately 20 to 30 pounds and standing, walking, and reaching or bending for up to eight hours per day.

Responsibilities

Bag groceries at checkout without damaging customers’ items, using appropriate practices for reusable, plastic, and paper bags.
Help customers load bags into their cars.
Return merchandise to store shelves.
Gather shopping carts and baskets and return them to designated areas.
Clean spills and collect and pick up trash inside the store and in the parking lot.
Learn the store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
Act with honesty and integrity in dealings with customers and in following company policies.
Protect the safety of oneself, coworkers, and customers, and immediately report safety-related accidents and incidents to management.
