About The Position

Lunardi’s Markets is hiring Grocery Clerks/Cashiers in San Bruno. This local, family-owned grocery chain is seeking warm, friendly, reliable people who enjoy helping customers and can work in a fast-paced environment while multitasking and maintaining safety and quality standards. The role offers on-the-job training and requires no prior experience. Employees may learn about store products and their use and location, serve customers, and use a range of store equipment. Duties may change and are not limited to those listed. The posting also describes Night Crew Stocker roles, which involve graveyard shifts and stocking, rotating, and organizing merchandise; candidates may be considered for different available roles based on their interests, experience, and skills. All available roles are union jobs with competitive pay and benefits. Pay rates are negotiated during the employment interview and determined by the applicant’s experience level. The position requires regular lifting of about 20–30 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, as well as standing, walking, reaching, and bending for up to eight hours per day.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service and address customers’ needs in a timely and effective manner.
Learn store products, their general uses, and where they are located.
Follow customer checkout procedures, including fraud prevention and bagging purchases.
Use store equipment and tools, such as cash registers, box cutters, trash compactors, cardboard balers, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
Act honestly and with integrity regarding customers and company policies.
Protect the safety of oneself, coworkers, and customers, and promptly report safety-related accidents and incidents to management.
For Night Crew Stocker work: monitor stock levels in the backroom and on the sales floor.
For Night Crew Stocker work: stock, rotate, and organize merchandise to maintain product freshness and an attractive store appearance.
For Night Crew Stocker work: check product quality and sell-by dates, and report ordering or shipping discrepancies to a manager.
For Night Crew Stocker work: possibly work as a cashier if the shift includes store business hours.
