About The Position

The Produce Clerk sorts, displays, removes, and replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department. The role maintains the department’s overall environment by assisting Members with product knowledge and customer service, and ensures produce meets or exceeds company quality standards. The position also supports club policies, procedures, compliance, safety, inclusion, and daily GOLD Member and Club Standards.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Responsibilities

• Assist Members in the produce department by answering questions, recommending products and safe handling tips, and helping them find products throughout the club.
• Inspect, rotate, and store produce deliveries, ensuring received items meet or exceed company standards.
• Rotate produce on the sales floor for freshness and variety; keep cases and displays stocked, neat, and clean; and remove items no longer suitable for sale.
• Maintain the produce reserve stock area by dating and rotating back stock and keeping the storage area organized and condensed daily.
• Follow established guidelines for disposing of damaged, spoiled, or expired products.
• Assist the Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed.
• Clean and sanitize produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including the produce cooler and refrigerated display cases.
• Generate produce signage and perform price checks as needed; ensure items are accurately priced and signed.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
