Produce Clerk - Earth Fare Charleston
About The Position
Earth Fare Team Members help ensure customers have a fulfilling store visit by answering questions and meeting their shopping needs. They guide customers toward healthy food and trusted products for wellbeing and the household. The Produce Clerk keeps the produce department stocked, clean, organized, rotated, culled, and appropriately merchandised; maintains department stock levels and invoice records; verifies signage and pricing; and provides product knowledge and customer service. The role operates in a fast-paced, customer-service-focused environment and may involve working in extreme cold and performing physically demanding tasks.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and squat.
- Ability to push, pull, and maneuver heavy loads.
- Ability to stand and remain on one's feet during the workday.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-service-focused environment, potentially in extreme cold.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of produce and organic procedures.
- Knowledge of produce industry trends and common allergies and specialized dietary terms such as gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian.
- Experience working in retail and/or a customer-service-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Keep the produce department well stocked, clean, organized, rotated, culled, and appropriately merchandised.
- Catalog and code invoices and maintain department stock levels.
- Maintain an attractive sales floor in accordance with Earth Fare merchandising guidelines, as outlined by the Produce Manager.
- Verify proper signage and pricing for department items.
- Provide customers with excellent product knowledge and service.
