About The Position

The Produce Clerk sorts, displays, removes, and replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department. The role maintains the department’s environment and helps Members through product knowledge and customer service, while ensuring produce meets or exceeds company quality standards.

The Produce Clerk inspects, stores, and rotates produce; keeps displays stocked, clean, and organized; maintains reserve stock; follows procedures for removing damaged or expired products; and cleans and sanitizes produce equipment and areas. The role also supports inventory and order processing, signage and price checks, club policies and procedures, and other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.

Responsibilities

• Assist Members in the produce department by answering questions, recommending products and safe-handling tips, and helping them find products throughout the club.
• Inspect, rotate, and store delivered produce, ensuring it meets or exceeds company produce standards.
• Rotate produce on the sales floor to maintain freshness and variety; keep cases and displays stocked, neat, and clean; and remove products no longer suitable for sale.
• Maintain the produce reserve stock area by dating and rotating back stock and organizing and condensing the storage area daily.
• Follow established guidelines for disposing of damaged, spoiled, or expired products.
• Assist the Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed.
• Clean and sanitize produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including the produce cooler and refrigerated display cases.
• Generate produce signage and perform price checks as needed; ensure items are accurately priced and signed.
• Maintain club policies and procedures.
• Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Support club standards by working as a team, maintaining a safe and positive environment, and delivering friendly Member service.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
