About The Position
Musicologie is seeking an expert musician who enjoys introducing people of all ages and abilities to music. Teachers guide students as they identify their goals and progress through related curriculum, encourage students throughout their musical journey, and promote community involvement through performances and group classes. The organization emphasizes a safe, play-based learning environment, the belief that everyone deserves a great teacher, teacher training and shadowing, upward mobility, innovative programs and technology, and a collaborative community of music teachers. The teacher is expected to learn Musicologie’s educational philosophy, curriculum, and processes and provide an outstanding lesson experience to every student and family. The role involves collaborating with other teachers and managers to strengthen the capabilities of the team. Evening availability is required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in the teacher’s instrument or equivalent experience.
- Teaching experience on the teacher’s instrument.
- Experience working with children and families.
- Able to work evening hours.
- Excellent musicianship.
- Strong in-person and email communication skills.
- Highly organized and self-motivated.
- Curious and inspired to learn new things.
- Enthusiastic about helping students of all ages and abilities become passionate, proficient musicians.
Responsibilities
- Learn and apply Musicologie’s philosophy of education, curriculum, and processes.
- Deliver an outstanding lesson experience to every student and family.
- Guide students of all ages and abilities as they identify goals and progress through relevant curriculum.
- Encourage community involvement through performances and group classes.
- Collaborate with other Musicologie teachers and managers to elevate the capabilities of the team.
