About The Position

The Privacy Analyst II monitors the day-to-day activities of MUSC Health in support of its privacy compliance objectives. The role works in conjunction with and under the supervision of the MUSC Health Director of Privacy.

The analyst conducts high-complexity HIPAA audits, responds to inquiries, coordinates investigations and responses to reported allegations and questions, and ensures required follow-up actions and reporting are completed. The role also supports communication with areas of the organization, provides education on technical aspects of HIPAA, conducts site visits, trains new privacy team members, mentors other analysts, and assists the Director of Privacy with other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 4–6 years of work experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-complexity HIPAA audits and respond to inquiries.
• Coordinate investigations and responses to reported allegations and questions, ensuring completion of necessary follow-up actions and reporting requirements.
• Ensure questions and allegations are logged in the matter management system.
• Facilitate communications between areas of the organization that approach the Privacy Office.
• Provide education and in-service training on more technical aspects of HIPAA as needed.
• Conduct HIPAA site visits.
• Train new privacy team members.
• Serve as a mentor to other analysts.
• Assist the Director of Privacy with other assigned duties.
