About The Position

Orbus is seeking a Digital Print Operator for its Woodridge, Illinois facility. The role operates within the large-format digital print department and includes processing files with RIP software, organizing the daily work schedule, and operating and maintaining one to two grand-format printers. The operator is responsible for print quality and works with the Art Team and Finishers to communicate critical job details. The position offers a comprehensive training program and benefits. The schedule is Monday through Friday on the day shift, with overtime as needed.

Requirements

At least 1 to 2 years of experience in large-format printing or the tradeshow industry.
Hard-working, dependable, and detail-oriented approach in a deadline-driven environment.
Ability to understand measurements and fractions.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Effective communication and time-management skills.
Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Pantone books.
Experience with Ergosoft RIP software.
Experience with EFI Vutek/Reggiani print equipment.
Experience with the two-step dye-sublimation transfer process.
Ability to multitask and work well both independently and as part of a team.
“Can do” attitude and ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

Process files using RIP software.
Organize the daily work schedule.
Run and maintain one to two grand-format printers.
Perform daily printing and maintenance on UV and/or dye-sublimation equipment.
Ensure the quality of printed jobs, including output, correct images and quantities, color, and material quality.
Read and understand work orders and written instructions.
Communicate critical job details with the Art Team and Finishers.
Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot printing problems.
Cross-train on other equipment and in other departments as needed.
