This course focuses on understanding brain-behaviour relationships by examining major neurobehavioural syndromes and associated neuropsychological deficits. It will review the current theoretical assumptions underlying these syndromes. Topics include: history and principles of neuropsychology, gross neuroanatomy and neuropathology, aphasia, apraxia, agnosia, alexia, agraphia, visuo-spatial/perceptual/construction disorders, attention/neglect, memory and learning, limbic system functions, callosal syndromes, and executive functions. This is a lecture-based course offered in person.
