About The Position

This course focuses on understanding brain-behaviour relationships by examining major neurobehavioural syndromes and associated neuropsychological deficits. It will review the current theoretical assumptions underlying these syndromes. Topics include: history and principles of neuropsychology, gross neuroanatomy and neuropathology, aphasia, apraxia, agnosia, alexia, agraphia, visuo-spatial/perceptual/construction disorders, attention/neglect, memory and learning, limbic system functions, callosal syndromes, and executive functions. This is a lecture-based course offered in person.

Requirements

  • Doctorate in psychology
  • Excellent knowledge of neuropsychological research
  • In-depth knowledge of neurological disorders and syndromes
  • Advanced knowledge of neuroanatomy and neurophysiology
  • Demonstrated competency incorporating equity, diversity, and inclusion principles in teaching and/or training

  • Formal training in anti-racist, anti-discriminatory, anti-oppressive, and inclusive practices
  • Relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course "Principes de neuropsychologie" (PSY5525 Section A00) during the Fall 2026 semester.
  • Maintain the original assigned mode of course delivery (in-person).
  • Inform the School of Psychology Secretariat if a class needs to be cancelled.
  • Arrange for a suitable replacement instructor if aware in advance of an upcoming absence.
