About The Position

Microsoft AI Monetization is helping developers and organizations build AI experiences using fresh, relevant information from the web. Web IQ provides AI-native APIs that let applications and agents discover, retrieve, and use web intelligence. The Principal Technical Program Manager drives end-to-end execution of Web IQ developer experience and customer platform programs in partnership with the AI Search Platform (AISP) engineering team. The role works across product, engineering, Azure, customer experience, and business stakeholders to turn priorities into a coherent backlog, actionable delivery plans, and predictable outcomes. It requires aligning stakeholders on scope and sequencing, resolving technical dependencies, anticipating risks, communicating status, and improving the experience from developer discovery through production-scale use. The role leads integrated planning and execution, establishes operating rhythms for delivery and launch readiness, and coordinates teams across engineering, product, Azure, partner integrations, customer support, and go-to-market. It drives the developer journey across the Web IQ portal and Azure, including discovery, provisioning, authentication, API access, first use, and production onboarding. It also coordinates commercial and ecosystem programs such as billing, metering, customer activation, and partner integrations; works with engineering on technical reviews and release risks; and tracks program health using customer and operational measures. Microsoft employees are expected, starting January 26, 2026, to work from a designated office at least four days per week if they live within a 50-mile commute of a U.S. office or a 25-mile commute of a non-U.S. office, subject to local law and jurisdictional variation. The position is Technical Program Management IC5. The typical U.S. base pay range is $142,800–$274,800 per year; the range for the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area is $188,000–$304,200 per year. The posting will remain open for at least five days and accept applications on an ongoing basis until filled.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of experience in engineering, product or technical program management, data analysis, or product development, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years leading complex, cross-functional technical programs with ambiguous requirements, competing priorities, and multiple engineering dependencies.
  • Experience delivering cloud services or cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, APIs, or distributed systems, with the ability to engage deeply on architecture, integration, reliability, and operational tradeoffs.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority, manage execution risk, and communicate effectively with engineers, product leaders, and executives.
  • 8+ years driving large-scale, multi-team programs from planning through launch and sustained operation.
  • Experience with developer portals, API onboarding, identity/authentication, Azure resource provisioning, usage metering, billing, or cloud marketplace integrations.

  • Familiarity with AI agents, search, information retrieval, and grounding services, and ability to review technical designs and make informed tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

  • Own integrated planning and execution for Web IQ developer experience programs, translating product and customer priorities into a prioritized engineering backlog, milestones, owners, dependencies, and measurable exit criteria.
  • Establish operating rhythms for planning, delivery reviews, issue triage, launch readiness, and executive reporting; drive decisions and escalations when tradeoffs arise.
  • Coordinate AISP engineering, Web IQ product, Azure, partner integrations, customer support, and go-to-market teams to deliver shared commitments.
  • Drive delivery of an end-to-end developer journey across the Web IQ portal and Azure, including discovery, eligibility, resource provisioning, authentication, API key and access management, playground, first API call, and production onboarding.
  • Lead execution of developer-facing capabilities such as documentation, SDKs, code samples, API references, integration guides, troubleshooting, and self-service support experiences.
  • Coordinate customer-management workflows for accounts, permissions, quotas, usage visibility, and support handoffs, with attention to secure and reliable operation.
  • Coordinate engineering programs spanning Azure integration, billing and metering, usage data, customer activation, and operational readiness; ensure end-to-end validation across dependent systems.
  • Drive cross-team execution for partner and ecosystem connections, such as Microsoft Foundry and potential third-party channels or cloud platforms, as priorities are approved.
  • Partner with engineering on technical design reviews, API and system contracts, release sequencing, migrations, and risk mitigation while leaving architecture ownership with engineering.
  • Define and maintain program health and developer-experience scorecards, including time to first successful call, onboarding completion and drop-off, activation, service issues, and delivery predictability.
  • Use customer feedback, support signals, telemetry, and operational data to identify friction and drive corrective actions.
  • Communicate decision-oriented updates to technical and senior leadership audiences, distinguishing committed scope, risks, open decisions, and next steps.
