Principal Technical Program Manager

Marvell Technology•Santa Clara, CA
•$158,330 - $237,200

About The Position

Marvell is hiring a Principal Technical Program Manager for its Platform Engineering Program Management team. The team integrates boards, switch systems, and optical interconnects into platforms for hyperscale cloud and networking customers. The role leads complex development programs from early definition through validation and production readiness, connecting engineering execution with customer priorities and aligning teams across business units. The work supports AI infrastructure through tighter semiconductor-package integration, high-bandwidth connections between compute resources, and interconnected systems and data center networks. The position owns platform programs from concept through production readiness, establishing integrated plans for requirements, resources, milestones, dependencies, validation, and release criteria across board, switch, and optical development. It leads customer-focused platform development and coordinates multidisciplinary engineering and business teams, technical integration, issue resolution, quality, risk management, manufacturing readiness, and program communications. The role also improves program management practices as platform complexity and customer demand grow. The role works with specialists in high-speed hardware, switching, optics, firmware, and system validation. It offers the opportunity to influence platform delivery across organizational boundaries and engage directly with customers and senior leaders. The expected base pay range is $158,330–$237,200 per annum. The role is eligible for bonus and equity plans, including a new-hire equity grant and annual equity refreshers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Substantial relevant experience in semiconductors, networking, or systems/platform development; preferably 15+ years with a bachelor’s degree, 10+ years with a master’s degree, or 8+ years with a PhD.
  • At least 5 years of technical project or program management experience in the semiconductor or systems/platform industry.
  • Development experience in one or more of high-speed board design, switch systems, or optics/optical interconnects, with the ability to manage dependencies across an integrated platform.
  • Working knowledge of high-speed PCB design and layout, signal integrity considerations, switch architectures, optical module integration, and hardware/firmware validation.
  • Track record of managing multiple concurrent development efforts and delivering complex, integrated products against customer requirements.
  • Ability to align teams across engineering, product, operations, and external partners, including when priorities compete and reporting lines differ.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical issues into clear decisions, actions, and business implications.
  • Strong planning, organization, risk analysis, and problem-solving skills, supported by sound judgment under pressure.
  • Ability to balance immediate delivery needs with long-term platform objectives and customer commitments.
  • Applicants must be eligible to access export-controlled information under applicable law; some applicants may be subject to an export license review process prior to employment.
