About The Position

Alliance Clinical Network is seeking an Internal Medicine / Family Medicine / Specialist physician (MD/DO) with clinical research experience to establish and lead a new clinical research site in Cleveland, OH. This role offers the opportunity to provide clinical and medical guidance, shape the site's success, and make a significant impact in advancing medical innovation through patient-centered clinical research. It is ideal for a physician who enjoys medicine and clinical research, wants to remain clinically engaged with a more predictable schedule, and contribute fully to clinical research without the demands of a traditional full-time clinical practice. The position involves medical oversight and leadership for assigned clinical trials, focusing on patient safety and data quality, with support from an experienced clinical operations team.

Requirements

  • MD or DO with a background in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or a Specialist
  • Active, unrestricted Ohio medical license
  • Prior clinical research experience in a Principal Investigator, Sub-Investigator, or other clinical research physician capacity is required
  • Strong clinical judgment and commitment to participant safety
  • Interest in clinical research and advancing medical innovation
  • Comfort reviewing structured clinical data and study-specific medical information
  • Strong communication, documentation, and confidentiality practices
  • Familiarity with ICH-GCP and FDA clinical research regulations
  • Board certification
  • DEA registration, if required by applicable study protocols

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the study physician and provide medical oversight for assigned clinical trials.
  • Protect the safety, rights, and well-being of research participants throughout the study.
  • Review and confirm participant eligibility and provide medical oversight of screening outcomes.
  • Review adverse events (AEs), serious adverse events (SAEs), and participant safety trends.
  • Perform or oversee study-specific medical assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, concomitant medications, and endpoint assessments.
  • Provide clinical guidance and medical oversight to Sub-Investigators, Clinical Research Coordinators, RNs, and other site staff.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for study-related medical questions and safety concerns.
  • Collaborate with study sponsors, CROs, IRBs, and Alliance leadership throughout the life of each trial.
  • Participate in Site Initiation Visits, monitoring visits, close-out activities, and other study meetings as needed.
  • Review clinical data including laboratory results, ECGs, vital signs, and other study-specific assessments.
  • Support timely safety reporting, medical documentation, and resolution of clinical data queries.
  • Maintain compliance with study protocols, site SOPs, ICH-GCP, FDA regulations, and applicable Florida requirements.
  • Contribute to a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and patient-centered research.
