About The Position

The Prestige Beauty Advisor (PBA) maximizes sales in the prestige category, including color cosmetics, skincare, and fragrance, by engaging guests, identifying their needs, and helping them select and purchase merchandise. The role delivers exceptional guest service, supports sales and in-store events, maintains store standards, and follows company policies and procedures. It requires a passion for beauty, strong guest-service skills, and the ability to learn and communicate product knowledge.

The PBA supports the Sales Manager through a focus on performance, people, and process. Responsibilities include meeting sales and loyalty goals; providing personalized recommendations and beauty demonstrations; supporting appointments, services, and events; maintaining product displays, testers, and store cleanliness; completing operational tasks; and contributing to an inclusive, collaborative environment. The role requires a flexible schedule that may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as attendance at corporate meetings and conferences that may involve overnight stays.

The posted pay range is $15.50–$21.00 per hour. Exact pay depends on factors including education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, location, and business needs. Eligible associates may earn overtime as required by law. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits; part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred.
• Cosmetology, esthetician, or demonstrator’s license where required by state law.
• One year of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience preferred.
• Passion for and significant competency in prestige products, guest service, and selling.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of frequent mobility, standing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, twisting, lifting or moving up to 10 pounds, and continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during a shift.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to store goals for retail and service sales, guest loyalty including credit, retail shrink, and omnichannel sales, with emphasis on prestige categories and iconic brands.
• Provide exceptional guest service by greeting and engaging guests, personalizing assistance, recommending complementary products or services, and sharing current promotions, events, and services.
• Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously.
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analyses, and product demonstrations to support sales and guest experience.
• Book appointments and support services and in-store events.
• Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services, and learn their ingredients and benefits.
• Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
• Contribute to an inclusive environment for teammates, peers, and guests.
• Collaborate with store managers and associates to grow the business.
• Participate in ongoing training and brand and category education.
• Follow company policies, procedures, standards, and dress code.
• Replenish, sign, and face prestige and iconic brand work areas, and maintain testers according to hygiene standards.
• Maintain store cleanliness and operational standards, including salesfloor, restrooms, cashwrap, backroom, break area, and makeover stations.
• Assist with merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, physical inventory, and shipment processing using company technology and practices.
• Explain the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app, to guests.
• Protect company assets by following loss-prevention practices and providing exceptional guest service.
• Complete other operational tasks as directed.
• Work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Attend corporate business meetings and conferences, including those requiring overnight stays.
