About The Position

Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time assistant to assist in a classical and Catholic Preschool 3/4 classroom for up to 14 hours per week at our center in Lapeer, Michigan. Applicants do not need a teaching certification or formal teaching experience, as training will be provided. The ideal candidate may have experience in homeschooling, working with homeschool children, ministry within a Catholic parish, teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes, teaching their own children, or teaching in a classical or private school. Regina Caeli Academy is a classical homeschool academy in the Catholic tradition, offering instruction in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. Childcare/nursery is provided for employees. No additional vacation days are given, though accommodations are made for sick days. Applicants must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and possess a deep love for the Catholic faith. Curriculum and grading guidelines are provided, and tutors are trained in instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards. The ideal applicant will have strong communication skills, good organization, timeliness, a traditional view of the student/teacher relationship, and must be living the Catholic faith daily, including having received all appropriate sacraments.
