About The Position

Sales Clerks help ensure guests’ needs are met. Team Members are assigned to a primary area and are also trained to assist customers throughout the store, including in the prepared foods and meat departments. Success in this position requires being a team player who supports colleagues and helps set the team up for success.

Requirements

• 0 to 6 months of experience required.
• At least 16 years of age.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• No high school diploma is required.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in a related field.
• Food safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety as the top priority for Team Members, guests, and products.
• Provide outstanding guest service and strive to delight guests, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Share enthusiasm and passion for food with Team Members and guests.
• Demonstrate appropriate suggestive-selling techniques.
• Provide sampling opportunities when appropriate.
• Maintain the cleanliness of equipment, tables, utensils, and floors, and meet sanitation regulations.
• Stock cases by moving products from the delivery area to their proper shelf locations.
• Answer guests’ questions promptly and with a smile.
• Order products as needed by scanning shelf tags or entering numbers on the order machine.
• Follow procedures to help the store meet out-of-stock percentage goals.
• Add new items to shelves by rearranging existing items and displaying products appropriately and safely.
