About The Position

The Hemingway's Tavern Prep/Dish Team Member helps keep the kitchen running smoothly by maintaining cleanliness and sanitation while assisting with food preparation and station setup. The role supports the culinary team by ensuring it has the tools, ingredients, and assistance needed to provide high-quality food and service. The position is based in a fast-paced restaurant environment and includes hands-on training; previous restaurant or kitchen experience is a plus but is not required.

Requirements

• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and food safety.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours per shift.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, glassware, cookware, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe dishwashing and prep area.
• Assist with food preparation and ingredient prep according to company recipes and standards.
• Complete assigned prep work to stock and set up kitchen stations for service.
• Safely operate kitchen equipment, including knives, slicers, mixers, grinders, and food processors.
• Support fellow Team Members and contribute to a positive, team-focused environment.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness procedures.
• Help maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen, dining areas, and restaurant according to company standards.
