About The Position

Cboe Global Markets is seeking a highly motivated, independent critical thinker to work on Cboe Predicts, its emerging prediction market offering. Cboe Predicts enables retail and institutional customers to trade binary contracts that transfer risk based on realized events. The analyst will conduct competitive analysis, build internal automation and tools, explore potential new offerings, and provide strategic insights on developments in the rapidly growing prediction market space. This hands-on generalist role combines capital markets research with innovation and includes visible analytical and technical work, such as writing research and building Python scripts. The analyst should be comfortable presenting and defending ideas, applying statistical analysis and financial theory, and objectively assessing world events and their macro- and micro-level impacts. The role follows a four-day-in-office work model.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience, including internship experience, in capital markets, exchanges, asset management, market structure, or financial technology.
  • Experience with AI workflow engineering.
  • Knowledge of capital markets, securities valuation, and financial institutions.
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, including pivot tables, structured data models, and dashboarding.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take a loosely scoped project through to a concrete deliverable across multiple stakeholders.
  • Comfort presenting and defending ideas, performing statistical analysis, applying financial theory, and objectively analyzing world events and their macro- and micro-level impacts.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • MA, MS, or MBA in finance, economics, business, data science, or a related field.
  • Experience in capital markets, derivatives, programming, writing research reports, or academic papers.
  • Familiarity with U.S. options and equities market structure, including exchange rule filings, fee schedules, and the SEC, CFTC, and FINRA landscape.
  • Understanding of the retail brokerage ecosystem, including routing, order handling, payment for order flow (PFOF), and self-directed platform economics.
  • Experience with low-code automation tools such as n8n or Power Automate and API integration.
  • Experience with programmatic document generation using tools such as python-pptx or openpyxl, and cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake.
  • Interest in derivatives product design and retail investor behavior.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze retail participation, trading-flow characteristics, and adoption trends across Cboe products, including index options, mini and nano contracts, and short-dated expiries, and translate findings into product and go-to-market implications.
  • Build and maintain recurring dashboards and reports on retail behavior for internal business owners, replacing manual data pulls with automated pipelines.
  • Quantify the impact of retail-facing initiatives, such as education, market protections, contract design changes, and listing decisions, in terms suitable for advisory group and executive materials.
  • Track competitor product changes and fee filings, and keep internal stakeholders informed in a timely manner.
  • Monitor institutional client trends and identify ways to measure institutional participation in event contracts to support Cboe Predicts growth.
  • Size markets for new thematic product opportunities that complement tradable asset classes in Cboe’s ecosystem, including event contracts, options, futures, equities, and cryptocurrencies.
  • Create reports on competitors and their institutional and retail customer strategies and product use cases.
  • Research alternative asset classes and adjacent product structures, including digital assets, commodities, credit, event and prediction markets, private-market access vehicles, defined-outcome products, and derivative-income products; assess the viability of listed, cleared, or exchange-adjacent offerings through event contracts or binary-options wrappers.
  • Produce competitive assessments of specific products and venues, covering contract design, margin and capital treatment, distribution models, and regulatory posture, and conclude each with a clear recommendation.
  • Monitor regulatory and policy developments affecting retail access to alternative investments and flag developments that open or close potential opportunities.
  • Build and maintain automations that eliminate recurring manual work for the team.
  • Develop reusable internal tools for document and presentation generation, competitive monitoring, and alerting, prioritizing solutions that other teams can adopt over one-off scripts.
